South Gate Community Adult School (SGCAS) is a one-stop adult education center. Our program is designed to respond to your changing educational and career-technical needs as well as the needs of business and industry.
The purpose of SGCAS is to provide inexpensive, high-quality, state accredited education and career technical programs. It is structured to be an open door for adult students to re-enter an educational institution for purposes of a high school diploma, English proficiency skills or career training and preparation.

South Gate Community Adult School (CAS) (with branch and day classes) is one of the thirty-three public adult schools and occupational/skills centers operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District, Division of Adult and Career Education, Our school offers educational programs in the following subjects: English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, Career and Technical Education, Citizenship, Parent Education, and Program for Older Adults. Adult Secondary Education students may enroll in classes that will prepare them to earn a Technical Career Education certificate, Eighth Grade Diploma, G.E.D. Certificates, and/or High School Diploma.
Who understand others and express themselves through a variety of oral, nonverbal, written, and technological means in order to participate in our evolving society.
Who develop critical thinking skills which enable them to assess, interpret and organize information, and formulate effective solutions in daily life.
Who possess the knowledge, self-confidence and skills necessary to establish and meet personal, academic, or vocational goals in a diverse and constantly changing society.
South Gate CAS provides students in our community access to lifelong learning opportunities through quality academic programs, English language acquisition, personal enrichment, and career technical preparation courses. Students are prepared to meet their individual goals, enter the workforce, continue their education, and participate in their community.
